"The room was clean enough but there was a large crack in the toilet bowl and the bathroom sink did not drain. I'm glad we have only a small car as the the alley into the car park was very narrow but it was handy that there was an entrance straight from the car park into the hotel. The bed was a 300 year old four poster bed. It was beautiful but the mattress was long overdue needing to be replaced. There was a mattress topper but the old mattress just sank into the middle. I appreciate it's an old bed but it could be maintained and the mattress replaced to provide a comfortable night's sleep. The breakfast was continental style, lots of options including fresh fruit and pastries. Unfortunately the other guests had taken multiple plates piled high with food that we had to ask for a plate. The staff were lovely, very helpful and friendly. I'd recommend the hotel as the location was excellent and the price was very reasonable, just don't stay in the four poster room if you want a good sleep. "

"I was very pleasantly surprised by my stay at The George hotel. In my opinion it is good enough to be a 4 star hotel not a 3 as advertised. The decor, the staff and cooked breakfast was marvellous, perfect poached eggs. The staff were all friendly too. Will definitely stay there again when I am in town. Thank you 😊 "

"Arrived and went to pay for stay but won’t accept cash?? . Not advertised or expected only took cash luckily wife had card. Spoilt whole stay was going to eat and drink in bar , one of reasons for booking this hotel. We found elsewhere but might as well of stayed elsewhere "

"Apartment was not very clean. Hair in bathroom and tub old used sponges to wash dishes and washing machine was dirty. Check in guidelines were not clear and couldn’t find the apartment for 30mins. Yelled at by neighbors for parking in wrong spot. Not enough toilet paper or towels or supplies "

"Right in town so perfect from train station. Lovely staff and my room was lovely. Great sleep. Check out at 11. Will be back again :) "
