"From even before we arrived our stay was already fabulous. The concierge staff reached out to us in advance offering assistance and were able to arrange two accommodations we wanted even before we checked in. They remained that helpful during our entire stay. The property and rooms are beautiful. The restaurant and bar are amazing and every staff member was friendly and helpful. The location is excellent and walking distance to everything inside the Walled City. We enjoyed every second of our stay there."

"We enjoyed every aspect of this hotel apart from one crucial thing. After disembarking a Silversea cruise, we checked in and a friend from the ship accompanied us to the hotel. The front desk would not accept a US driver’s licence as ID and refused to let him see our room for a brief moment. I was informed that only a passport would suffice. The following evening, we invited a friend from the US who was in the area to come to the hotel around 8.30pm before going to dinner. We warned her that she would need to give the hotel reception her passport. However, when we called the reception desk to inform them we were expecting a guest, we were told this would not be possible. This was extremely embarrassing for us when we had to inform our friend that she was not welcome at the hotel. Furthermore, I was approached many times during our stay asking for my name and room number as if I did not belong there. This was irritating. The bed was excellent and the room beautifully quiet. Breakfast was wonderful also with a great choice. Unfortunately, however, I would probably stay elsewhere on my sixth visit to Cartegena for the reasons above."

"Call the hotel directly to bargain with the pricing because the pool is under construction. I overpaid basically for the hotel with absolutely nothing included, not even a water bottle, no breakfast or anything. The have snacks and drinks in the room but they are not complimentary. If you aren’t traveling with kids and don’t plan on actually staying in, just get a BnB and have some cash to use throughout your trip."
