"This was the perfect place for us to stay while taking in the sites and enjoying in the activities of the Kona/Captain Cook area! The bed was very comfortable, everything was spotless, and the hosts were gracious. We greeted the sun every morning on the lanai with fresh coffee and a yummy breakfast--the passion fruit butter was my favorite! If you are looking for a place a little off the beaten track, this is the place for you!"

"I am a Platinum rated renter. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed in the Vacasa management of this property. The photos do not show the condition of the house. I love this location and the view from the upstairs deck. There are new appliances in the kitchen, the rest of the house is a bit run down. If you have young children, the downstairs two bedrooms are hard to get to and very far from the upstairs living area. You have to go on the outside deck, down outside stairs, through the garage and then you get to the first of the two bedrooms. That first one has two twin beds and no other exit. The second downstairs bedroom (found by going through the bathroom from the room with twin beds) does have a sliding glass door. My sister and daughter were disappointed in the downstairs rooms. We complained and got about 60 refunded (10% of the cost of one night). "

"After dealing with the traffic, this was a great home to come back to. I could have just read on the deck the whole time. Everything was in working condition and clean. I had a problem finding the road but I just got on the phone and she guided me to it. My bad. We were parked 6 feet from the road. The home is just half a mile from the hospital. Had to take my husband in for an eye condition. So nice not to have to drive into Kona.The first evening, my son and daughter-in-law came over with their kids to make dinner for us. It was so nice to have room for the six of us at the dining table and all the cooking utensils needed for an elegant meal in the middle of banana trees. I loved this little get away."

"Such a special place on the Big Island! Maka Nui feels like a resort from the moment you drive through the gate. Beautiful lush, tropical gardens and expansive ocean views. You cannot beat the sunsets. The house is just gorgeous - immaculately clean with comfy beds and a well-stocked kitchen. Candi is a gracious host and quick to answer questions. Thank you for all the treats! We'll be back!"
