Less than 10 min walk to the Cardiff Central Railway Stsation a just crossing the street and you’re in the City Center shopping Center , loads of coffee shops , restaurants and less than 10min walk to the Castle. Being in Center , easy access to pick up points for day trips j. Clean , relatively new building, comfortable bed and pillows , huge room and the price not bad for such location"

"Superb staff, a wonderful welcome. Room was spacious and bed super comfy. A historic building so decor and some of the fixtures in need of updating, but tbh that’s what gives The Angel its charm. I’d definitely stay again and highly recommend."

"Bed was uncomfortable, mattress needs replacing. Reception told us they'd been replaced in some rooms not others. Shower was cramped and too low so I had to stoop. "

"Rooms are a bit run down, location is great for being so close to Cardiff bay. Staff are lovely and friendly and the bar is cosy. Breakfast was decent."

"Good for a reasonably priced stay if you go midweek. Bathroom in my room was a bit odd, had a massive jacuzzi bath with a rainfall shower head over it, no shower curtain or screen.The shower head needed a thorough clean so who knows what state the jacuzzi jets would’ve been in. Seems a very odd choice for a hotel bathroom in a “4*” hotel. Felt a bit seedy motel like. Looking a bit worse for wear in places in what is a magnificent older building with some great features. There was an issue with the hot water for a few hours in the morning but was rectified in time to be able to get a hot shower, thankfully. Wouldn’t rush to return here, not terrible but distinctly average. "
