"Parking was great, staff friendly, just disappointed that the pool had a cover charge. The hotel is promoted as having a pool and not until you scroll down is the cover charge mentioned, If it said "pool (for a fee)" it would have been more obvious. £7.00 each when staying as a guest is not something I have encountered before."

"We stayed in a double room with a view of the River Tyne - it was great, with a large bath and shower, comfortable bed and plenty of space. Everything felt brand new, as if we were the first people to use it. A truly luxury hotel, probably the best in Newcastle right now. "

"A very tired looking pub and guest rooms. Corridor and stairs to rooms very uninviting and rather depressing. Rooms need updating, painted a dismal grey, paint chipped, silicone in bathroom black and dated furniture, lighting poor and very dim, green light on mirror over sink that illuminated the whole room through the night I had to sleep with an eye mask on (the sink and mirror were in the bedroom)! Tea and coffee in room. Quite noisy from the main road traffic just outside the hotel most of the night. Food in pub and breakfast were ok. Staff friendly and a perfect location if visiting the Freeman Hospital. Easy parking "
