"A lovely old coaching inn with very friendly and helpful staff. Great food as well. Some parts a bit tired but that's to be expected from such an old building, which has so much character. Central location on High Street. Very spacious room (4 poster bed room)"

"Lovely room overlooking the canal. Fantastic spa facilities and wonderful facial by Sian yesterday albeit the neck and shoulder massage was too light for me and like it a lot deeper. Food good other than the calamari on the spa day which you couldn’t really taste (far too small better off having just a couple of whole pieces). Cod is beer batter absolutely delicious. Chips not so much. Would highly recommend especially the spa, definitely one of the best I’ve been to. I will for sure be going back there again"

"The castle was large and interesting. It was fun walking through the sprawling hallways. The rooms were modernized enough for comfort, yet kept their old charm. There were several peacocks and hens walking about the property outside, which was amusing. The staff was kind and personable. Plenty of free parking. Unfortunately, if you are intending on using the spa facilities, especially massage, facial etc., you need to book much in advance as those were unavailable on arrival."

"Nice staff and good amenities. There were a few things that could be better maintained, but overall I had a great couple’s weekend away :) I would definitely go back in future. If you are staying at the hotel, go around the building as the check in reception is in the back."
