"The Hotel Ballena Ray is a gem. While the overall vibe is laid back, the rooms are perfect for a long stay with kitchenette and other basic amenities. The breakfast is especially wonderful as is the staff. And the pool, though small, is wonderful and has a bar open in the late afternoon and evening. You can swim until 9PM, which is a nice bonus after a long day exploring the surrounding areas of Uvita, Ballena Marine National Park (5 minute walk from the property) and the surrounding areas. Highly recommended."

"We had a wonderful stay here and would absolutely return. The casita is small, but beautifully maintained, very clean, and exactly what the two of us needed for a relaxing getaway. The location is fantastic — central to everything in Uvita and perfect for exploring beaches, restaurants, and local attractions. The Tex‑Mex restaurant next door was a delightful bonus and made grabbing dinner incredibly convenient.One of our favorite parts of the stay was enjoying coffee on the patio each morning while listening to the birds and watching the wildlife. It was peaceful, quiet, and such a lovely way to start the day.A few notes for future guests and the host:• The nearby beach is part of the national park, which means there’s an entrance fee. Some reviews made it sound a bit closer and more walkable than we personally found it to be.• The host did recommend several beautiful free beaches within a 10–15 minute drive, and they were perfect for catching sunsets.• Adding a lounge chair or two to the back patio would make the outdoor space even better — there wasn’t a comfortable spot to sit and read outside.Overall, this was a wonderful stay: clean, quiet, convenient, and a perfect base for exploring Uvita. Highly recommend."

"What an incredible place to stay! The property was beautiful and the house had everything we needed for a relaxing vacation. The host was wonderful and even met as at the front of the property to take us to our location. He answered all our questions and gave us a tour. The view was amazing and the pool was right there! I would highly recommend it to others and will definitely stay there again!"

"Fantastic stay, about 20-30 min walk to the beach national park and 15 mins to large supermarket, restaurants ect. The pools and outdoor kitchens are fantastic. There was so much room for everyone to use the facilities. Friendly staff too!"

"We stayed for 5 nights at the hotel. The hotel has the most beautiful view of the ocean. The restaurant was great for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The swimming pool was beautiful. We saw all kinds of birds and animals in the ground of the hotel. Highly recommend for anyone staying around the Uvita area with a car."
