Muddy Hill Moments Su

Summary:
Celebrate your special occasions at Muddy Hill Moments! One of the best tiny house rentals secluded in a 9-acre property in Arrow Junction, set in a beautiful 2.5-acre garden with an orchard, a large vegetable garden, a stonewalled hothouse, ponds, and other unique garden elements that guests are welcome to explore.

Although the tiny house is close to your host's home, guests will still have their much-deserved privacy and quiet getaway.

The Space:
Muddy Hill Moments sits beyond our orchard and edible gardens in a secluded corner of a 4-acre paddock in its own private gravelled yard. In the warmer months, it’s surrounded by wildflowers. It offers breathtaking views across open fields of lucerne and mature trees to the soaring mountains beyond which are capped with snow in winter.

It's one of the best tiny house rentals in Arrow Junction for seeing the sunrise, especially in the winter when a sea of frost covers the entire area, enhancing the spectacular mountain views. Nearby Aosta Arrowtown, Gibbston Valley Winery, and stunning lookouts such as Coronet Peak, and Brow Peak are just a few of the recommended local attractions.

What's more, Arrowtown will be celebrating its "Upcoming Autumn Festival" from April 25-28, 2024, located 8 minutes from your accommodation. There will be music, food, and fascinating activities everyone will enjoy.

A comfortable 155 square feet stay with easy access to water, split air conditioning, a kitchenette, cooking equipment, and excellent bathroom facilities, including a cassette toilet with a removable waste-holding tank, hand basin, and shower (gas heated for hot showers) for your use.

If you plan to spend your tiny house NZ escapes here, we advise that you bring warm clothing for winter during your stay with us. Thank you!

IMPORTANT NOTE: CHILDREN ARE NOT ALLOWED due to several open ponds and car workshops on the property that can be harmful to children if left unsupervised.

Guest Access:
Guests will have access to the tiny house and its surroundings and are welcome to explore our gardens during the day. We also run a business, Old School Mechanical Ltd, which specializes in the restoration and repair of classic and vintage cars from the barn on our property (which also houses our museum). We would be pleased to give you a tour of our museum by prior appointment if you are interested.

Our business is open on weekdays 8:30 am-5:00 pm, located not far from the tiny house with potential for noise occasionally during these hours, and due to health and safety requirements, we ask guests not to approach the workshop during these hours.

The Neighborhood:
Muddy Hill Moments sits in the quiet and rural community of Arrow Junction, where the majority of our residents graze horses, fallow deer, tend sheep, and crop their land. Birdlife is also abundant in the area, with tuis, fantails, quail families, hawks, and falcons frequently seen floating overhead.

Wander down Buckingham Street and choose from a variety of cafes and restaurants, shop, walk by the river and pan for gold, or see Miners Village. One of the best tiny house NZ escapes in the region!

Our local recommendations:

- The Dishery Restaurant, located near Arrow River Reserve, serves some of the best locally sourced food and beverages in town.
- Aosta Arrowtown is a popular restaurant recommended by visitors that offers the best menu options, ambiance, and excellent service.
- Arrowtown is a historic gold mining town in the Otago region and a 6 min drive from the property, set on the South Island of New Zealand.
- Coronet Peak, Brow Peak, the Crown Range, and The Remarkables are just a few of the attractions that offer stunning 360-degree mountain vistas.
- Gibbston Valley Winery is one of Central Otago’s finest wineries offering wine tours, wine tasting, Arrow River Bridges Trail, Gibbston River Trail, and Queenstown cycle trail network

Getting Around:
By car:

- From Queenstown airport is 15 mins, 19 km, and to the nearest town Cromwell 45 mins, 45km. To Dunedin 3 hours, 30 mins, 268km. All are reachable by 2WD.

By public transport:

- Guests can travel by car, bus, or plane to Queenstown. Rental cars are readily available, as are taxis and Uber. We have a local loop bus service, and the closest stop to us is the Four Square, Adamson Drive, Arrowtown. Because we live rurally, we recommend guests have their own transport.

Other Things to Note:

- No unregistered guests or visitors are allowed
- Please do not enter the paddocks when animals are present
- Good mobile coverage with Telstra, Optus, Vodafone, 2degrees, and Spark
- Breakfast and charcuterie boards are available at an extra cost upon prior request

- We would like to advise guests that longer stays or later check-outs will incur an additional charge
- We have two well-socialized and friendly small dogs on the property and ask guests not to encourage them to enter the tiny house
- A composting bucket for fruit and vegetable scraps, and recycling bins are provided; conveniently positioned on the west side of the barn
- Due to the elevation of the property there is potential for traffic noise from the main highway especially during peak hours and on still days. Our neighbors use a variety of farm equipment such as quad bikes, tractors, harrows, etc which guests may hear from time to time.

- Museum and hosted garden visits are free and by prior appointment with the host
- Firewood kits are available at an extra cost and include kindling, firelighters, matches, and a supply of dry firewood

- Fire ban period is from 20DEC23 to 30APR24
