From the station, it is a very short but steep walk. Ask for a non-adjoining room in the top floor. Being an old building, the sound proofing leaves a fair amount to be desired. Dinner was delicious but the portions of our curries were very modest."

"Nice relaxing stay, if booking through 3rd party be careful of room designation offered we nearly fell foul of that as originally not as shown on booking and upon confirming with hotel found an error as hotel had put us in room 1/2 size at highest point in hotel best to book direct imo. For disabled requirements a bit misleading as there are none. Staff helpful and some EV charging available not shown on website."

"All areas of the hotel were immaculate and very clean, plenty of parking spaces and very quiet at night, no noise from corridors or banging of room doors. Staff were extremely helpful and pleasant. Their recommendation for food at Cooks Bar and Kitchen was an excellent choice, the Kelpies was a short pleasant walk, once out of the trading estate. "Very large, clean and comfortable room. Staff were outgoing and attentive to any of our needs. I was hoping for a more authentic castle experience, but furnishings were basic and a bit worn out. The restaurant service was slow due to under-staffing, but the staff were all friendly and engaging and the food was good. Overall, a comfortable stay, but don't expect much of an experience."
