"Wonderful hotel on the edge of the old town, walkable from the station with light luggage. Very happy with the choice, reasonable price, very comfortable , quiet room with good wifi, free water and coffee. I did nt have the breakfast nor need parking. Would definitely consider staying here again "

"Lovely Swiss hotel with atttentive staff. Room was very nice - comfy bed, lots of pillows. The AC worked wonderfully despite temps over 90°F and being on the fifth floor. Great breakfast. Proximity to public transportion was key for our busy, compressed schedule and so easy to use. The BaselPass saved us hundreds of dollars on cabs. "

"I highly recommend that everyone should look beyond the big expensive city of Basel and look into Germany for accommodations. Although this hotel had slightly outdated décor, one can see that this hotel, and it's staff, have a lot of pride in their work place, and they offer great service. My room was spotless, had all the necessities except for air conditioning but thankfully, it was a cool enough night that it wasn't necessary. The hotel offered a plentiful and fresh breakfast buffet that was fit for a king. Everything was wonderful at the Carathotel. I really commend the staff that was very welcoming."
