"Even though the room was in the older wing it was completely updated. The bed was extremely comfortable and linens were good quality. The ensuite was huge, almost as large as the main room with soaker tub, roomy walk-in shower sink and toilet and towel warmers. Good mirror and well lit.
The bed was queen sized and the TV was sizable. Desk and dresser. Really pretty nice.
I arrived early and the young man at reception was mainly concerned about the proper check-in time and couldn’t be bothered...
"Very disappointed in the breakfast,I thought when I paid for breakfast separate I thought it would be a hearty breakfast so imagine the surprise when I was offered cereal and one small glass of orange juice I paid for this break for my daughters birthday, wishing I had used somewhere else now."
"The room was basic and dated. Bathroom was very dated and grubby. Sheets were clean but things like the kettle were poorly situated in front of the tv on a narrow table too far from the plug. Lamps and curtains and such were very dated. Place was like a rabbit warren and very difficult to navigate. Hardly any parking spaces given the number of rooms and long walk back to car. Wasn’t informed of key pad access numbers to get back on at check in so had to walk all the way back to reception and all...
"Staff excellent. Breakfast great Rooms very very nice. Stayed last year but this year showed a massive improvement. Had a room downstairs far superior to upstairs. A little noisy around 130 am but nothing you can do about that. Staff considerately and diplomatically moved non disabled parking guest out of disabled space. Very thoughtful. Definitely recommend it. Will be back. Receptionist on duty 830 am last Tuesday was exceptional."
"We booked to stay at Rowton hall because we were attending a wedding. The staff were really lovely and very helpful Julie was exceptional as was another lady who helped us with our luggage. Annabelle on reception was also lovely, they really do have lovely staff, wedding bbq was lovely good choice of drinks, not exorbitant prices? Room was really lovely, nice comfortable beds. Thank you Julie and staff at Rowton hall."
"Have to say the staff were good and very helpful and I have no problem with anyone working at the hotel. The atmosphere within the bar area was quite poor and the tv remote was broken so couldn’t watch sports.
The main issue I had with the hotel was the music piped in through the obviously knackered speakers which as so distorted it was painful to listen too. We actually had to ask the breakfast staff to turn it down and they agreed it was terrible. Until this is resolved I can’t see myself...
"Rookery Hall is nothing short of stunning!. What a place. Beautiful grounds, the building is amazing to look at inside and out, the staff can't do enough for you and the Spa to relax. Me and the Mrs were very sad when our stay came to an end. It's a no brainer if you want a peaceful, romantic stay with your loved one. Absolutely brilliant *****"
"The hotel is easy walking distance to the train station and city centre. The hotel is well maintained. The Reception staff were very helpful especially Kurt providing useful information on Chester. The room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was very good every day we stayed. Roger was very organised in serving us the hot breakfast. We very much enjoyed our stay."
"Really nice hotel in a great location. The review would have been a 5 but for the fact of the most ridiculous system is in place on the bar for food. I ordered an appetiser and a main course stating it was a starter followed by ,,,,,,, To my surprise they came out together. I asked the waitress who grunted that’s the way the kitchen do it and making me feel I was a tad unreasonable. I suppose the saving grace I did not order an ice cream for dessert."
