"We had a great stay at the No. 5 Valley Lodge! The staff are very accommodating and welcoming. The hotel is located very close to the West Entrance of the park and offers rides to the entrance on days you wish to explore. On our day at the resort, there were fun activities organized by the hotel, a beautiful pool overlooking the valley, and rice fields you could walk along! If we ever return to Zhangjiajie, we will be sure to return!"

The indoor swimming pool is not open year round like I thought though and the restaurants close earlier during non-peak travel season so rely on room service if you want food late (it was good food)."

"We reserved two rooms for a family of four for 4 nights. Staffs were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean. The beds were very comfortable! We enjoyed the fresh room every day after a long walking tour. Breakfast is free and has lots of selection. It has a tour information desk offer online tickets booking with no extra fees. Whenever we had any questions or concerns about the tickets (wherever we were) they were always answered my phone. I would definitely recommend anyone to stay...

"Cons- Very far from most tourist destinations, expect to spend more money on taxi, and hotel adds surcharge to book cabs. Insect comes into the room because it's in forest area. Air Conditioning in Hotel isn't the best, it is just sufficient, but room remains warm. No restaurants other than hotel's own restaurants. Expect to pay slightly more for hotel food. "If you want to stay in the country side with no room service, no restaurant, outdoor bathroom (which I don’t recommend in the winter) then this is the hotel for you. It is probably not the best option for tourists that are visiting Zhangjiajie as it in an isolated area. The hotel itself is clean, and the views are amazing! It was a good experience but it wasn’t what I had hoped."

"The staff was friendly and polite; however, the room was not the cleanest nor the most comfortable. The carpet was pretty stained up and the bathroom only had 1/4 a roll of toliet paper.
