"Great stay many thanks. Nice property but please keep it refurbed and up to date. Needs aircon for the summer, fans good but too hot as windows cannot be fully opened. Great service in the bar/restaurant but needs Guinness back rather than Caffreys Stout! Will miss the lamb skewers from new menu but the new sticky chicken ones are also good. That said a tad less bbq sauce would be ideal."

"Parked at the Novotel around the corner, yourparkingspace app was just under £12 for 24 hours. Body wash in the shower was empty, reception said they'd sort it. Minor niggle, but very nice well located hotel with very good spa facilities and friendly staff."

"Excellent and comfortable stay. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff."

"Excellent gym. Brilliant helpful gym staff. Excellent breakfast. Comfy spacious room."

"Well located if you need to be near the university, and a decent price for a location with parking and breakfast included."

"Sadly, a disappointing stay in a hotel that has the potential to be beautiful but is dated and poorly maintained. We did not receive the suite we specifically booked for its layout. The first room we were given was accessed through a pitch-black courtyard, which felt unsafe. Although the bedroom and bathroom were modern, the living area was echoey, with a flimsy falling apart table and a fold-out bed positioned in a room near the external door. "The room was great. The restaurant and staff were wonderful."

"Used this place for business. Was close to work and affordable. The room was clean and had a fridge for my medication which is always a bonus. the staff in the restaurant and bar were great. Although it was a buffet breakfast, the food was still fresh and had not been cremated under the hot lights."

"We stayed in a four poster bedroom in late October 26. The hotel is a fascinating place (in a good way). Steeped in history but extremely well maintained. The bedroom was superb, luxurious and super clean with a very comfortable bed. We had both evening meal and breakfast at the hotel. Both were exceptional and decent value too. The staff were all professional, polite and friendly. Only minor gripe is the parking. The hotel parking itself is small and tight. Plus you will need to be there...
