The hotel is extremely convenient to the town and in a beautiful dominant position. Parking is easy and reasonably priced and the staff were polite and helpful. Through circumstances we didn't eat there so cannot comment in regard to food. Only adverse comments are the size of the room - we had to sidle past the bed and the untidy area visible through the window to the rear of the property. Value for money.

The building was impressive outside but would benefit from some work and tidying up around the outside seating area. The reception area was quite impressive with very well kept lounge areas with comfy well kept furniture. Loved the chandler and staircases. Our room was quite disappointing in that it was very dated and the furniture was cheap. The mattress certainly required changing for a new one, although the bedding was clean. The bathroom, although quite large, again was very dated. There were exposed water pipes above the basin which were corroding at the bottom. The shower was over the bath and there was no safety handle for anyone who was unsteady on their feet having to stand in the bath to have a shower. I personally do not like showers over baths as it is a safety issue as I well know.

A very impressive building. Bathroom a bit tired looking and taps stiff or leaking but a lovely location in the heart of Buxton. Only real gripe was that I was asked to pay extra for everything. Parking was an extra £5.00, use of the pool Is extra and breakfast was £24 extra! So I ate elsewhere.

Standard room very small window in room opened onto the air conditioning which got very load int the middle off the night waking up with headache. Had to pay for parking even though you was a guest which you would expect to be free also had to pay for pool facilities with all the little extra maybe book a higher rated accommodation but overall enjoyed the weekend in Buxton itself

I found the whole experience ordinary. I thought at breakfast it was unsafe people walking around with hot drinks when small children are around. I certainly won't be staying there again or recommending.
