"Room just about clean enough. Very tired furnishings and fittings. Room smelt heavily of cigarette smoke and was also very musty. Booked this hotel thinking it would be far better than this."
"If your looking for an overrated hotel then this is your place!!! Dated old dirty pillows, hair in the bed, chips in the mirror bed so uncomfortable you might aswell sleep on the floor dirty towels, don't get me started on the parking fee aswell, 9 pound!
Reception staff on arrival grumpy as hell!
Reception staff when leaving very nice and helpful shame they wasn't working when we arrived!
Overall wished we had just booked a Premier inn that worked out cheaper with decent beds aircon and all that...
"The staff were extremely helpful, excellent. Charging £12 to park your car is a liberty. The Marko restaurant in the evening was very average, the steak was poor to say the least, my friends dish was better, salmon. Just ok.
Waitresses were very good and helpful."
"Very nice and clean spacious bedroom bathroom is amazing food 10/10 quite off grid amazing staff very attentive room service spot-on very nice place to enjoy weekend get away or family holiday would recommend every time"
"Very nice place to stay and Evening meal and breakfast very good.
I stayed in the rooms outside the building which there are around 5-6 rooms.
Definitely would stay again although I do hope the hot water and heating will work on my next visit."
"Immaculate room and very spacious with comfy big arm chairs.
Bathroom was spotless too and shower lovely and roomy.
Breakfast and dinners were delicious!! The pancakes came with loads of yummy bacon and plenty maple syrup!
The fish and chips were plentiful, steak pie was hearty and filling! Will be back!"
"Our stay at this hotel was very comfortable. All staff were friendly and helpful at all times. Our room was a standard room at the top of the house and it was very clean with a nice ensuite and a comfortable bed. The decor and furniture enhanced the room giving plenty of space to put our clothes and personal effects. Food was very good, we had a three course dinner and the food was delicious.
Breakfast was also very good with a good and varied choice on the menu. Toast was available on...
"It has to be said that the house and grounds are superb and Met my desire to have my friend wake up on her 80th birthday in palatial surroundings. However I have just been informed at the end of breakfast that it is not included in my Expedia booking! There is no warning of that whatsoever and I think that it is deceitful and deceptive. "
"No checking in service at all. No prior instructions were given. We were helped into our apartment by the lady who owns the jewellers downstairs. We were woken at 6.45am on a Sunday to the sound of scaffolders and a traffic management company setting up to commence install scaffolding at 7am on the building we are in with no prior communication from the host this would be happening otherwise I wouldn't have booked there. By 8am there was a workman outside my first floor bedroom window so I had...
"These comments are not for publication but rather for Expedia to consider how they rate the Inn.
When we arrived at 8.30pm the Car Park was full, so it was a surprise that no-one was in pub. We never saw another guest during our stay. It felt that the business was struggling. A bit too quiet. Staff were ok.
Room facilities were ok including a very comfortable large bed.
A little disappointed that we had to ask for the heating to be put on in the room after we arrived.
The heating had not gone...
