"Staff on front desk & restaurant were lovely; neither tv in our room worked & when asked housekeeping if anyone could help she got another 2 of her team to come check then neither of them could help us"
"Of course the setting is the main attraction. The hotel is is a beautiful, grand, rural home, set by the lake, so its location and views are exceptional.
The hotel is a bit quirky and creaky as you would expect but some areas are tired and not as clean as they could be, sadly.
The staff were polite and efficent enough but not especially engaging. That said we didnt really need anything, so our interactions were limited"
"Regrettably our room number 6. Did not smell nice. It had the smell of old wet trainers. We did mention it and a room diffuser was turned on. Some of the fixtures and fitting were falling apart. The shower was head was not appropriate for the size of the shower causing flooding. The staff were lovely and theroom was clean."
"I reported the following: upon arrival excellent welcome, the room wardrobe had the laminate on one of the doors ripped and could easily have come off or cause an injury ( on the hand) whilst sliding open, a few hairs were also found, on the desk. I received a sorry about that but nothing else happened. The bar had a bell service due to lack of staff or guests which sometimes entailed a wait to be served. The hotel itself is historic and great setting / location. It rained each day so not good...
