"Brilliant hotel has everything needed, unfortunately they was doing works on bottom floor but can only imagine how beautiful it will look when done. Reception staff could be a little more friendly as I did ask a question one morning about getting to a town and had eyes rolled at me. But overall clean and nice hotel definitely want to return."
"Great and cozy room for our family of 3… great and amazing views from the room, tasteful breakfast, friendly staff, makes your stay so easy that feels like home"
"Sextantio Le Grotte della Civita was one of the most memorable stays of our entire Italy trip. Staying in a beautifully restored historic cave in the heart of Matera was such a unique and magical experience.
Our room was beautiful, spacious, and full of character, while still being very comfortable. The staff were absolutely wonderful—warm, friendly, attentive, and always happy to help. Breakfast was also fantastic, with fresh local food and excellent service.
The location in the Sassi is...
"I really amazing. It was a luxury cave. We booked the aromatherapy shower. Highly recommend to upgrade your room. The staff was very helpful. The breakfast was not extensive, but it was perfect. Make sure to follow the parking instructions."
"The whole experience was perfect. The location is in the Sassi area and the accommodations were very well appointed with elegant modern design juxtaposed with the ancient architecture of the building.
The staff were charming, knowledgeable of the area amenities.
We will be back to stay longer."
"This is a basic tourist property, breakfast adequate but not outstanding, lady on reception brilliant but the men rather ordinary, location ok, rooms need a good refurbish and TV needs some English stations and smart tv access. Parking handy."
"Amazing location in the heart of Matera. Simple but nice breakfast. Our room was quiet and comfortable bed and pillows. Great shower with mood lighting!"
