"It would have been nice to have had some emenities like shampoo and telephone, but overall it was a really great room and wonderfully located! We got into Inverness on the overnight train, but they wouldn't stow our luggage. That wasn't great. But they did try to accommodate us the best that they could... Still there should be a place that they can store your luggage for you (that isn't the sitting room). They have enough space to do this. "

"We had problems with the air conditioning and they couldn’t fix it for a couple of days, we had to move to another room later in the evening the next day and then the next room had a leaky shower, the bar and restaurant staff were exceptional, everyone was very friendly and the breakfast was really good, parking was close but not included. "Hotel room was clean, modern, had a true king size bed, and the private bathroom shower was truly relaxing! The hotel restaurant serves fantastic food. However, the bar only served Bud draft and a Thai draft beer. I was at the VERY LEAST expecting to be served with a local Scottish beer — huge bummer! The Mercure Hotel is located in the middle town, a one minute walk to Victoria Market— huge plus!"

"We adored this hotel. At first when we arrived, we were concerned not to be in the main building but it turned out the addition (added in 2006) featured walkout rooms to the gorgeous gardens. Service was impeccable and some of the friendliest we received in all of Scotland. Lochardil was top notch in every single way, we were so blessed to have found rooms here."

"Nice place to stay. It is within a couple blocks of River Ness and the old town. There is a large parking structure about two blocks away if you have a rental car. The staff were very friendly and the room was nice."

"What an absolutely charming and amazing place. Everything was perfect. The hotel manager and all of the staff were so gracious, helpful and knowledgeable about the area. This is a real gem. We actually tried to extend our stay even though we would have been unable to cancel our next nights accommodations at a different hotel and would have had to eat the cost of that other room. We truly did not want to leave but unfortunately they were all booked up. Would definitely return. "

"Stayed here as part of the TGO, quiet, right off the Great Glen Way about 5 minutes walk from the tourist cooridor (canals, shops and food). Large grounds. The bunkhouses are.nice, so are the castle rooms. "

"For the price, you are paying for the amazing loch views, and quiet serenity. Staff was very nice and helpful, food was great. However the owners need to update the rooms at this price point. I don’t mind experiencing the old charm of Scotland but not if it’s 1985 charm. Bathroom needs updating, even a curved shower curtain would go a long way. Wooden Floors are extremely creaky. Very hard to be quiet. Especially if you come in past midnight when all the doors are locked shut. Overall a great...
