"I chose a more budget room, so my view wasnt very nice and overlooked by other rooms (the garden is lovely so maybe consider upgrading to a garden view). However, the room was large, well maintained and I didnt notice any significant cleanliness issues. Bathroom had plenty of surface space for toiletries.
The car park can get quite full if an event is on. Food and drinks I thought a little pricey (large glass of wine and a burger £37). Pool was nice and lots of gym equipment."
"The B&B was in a good central location with buses stopping just outside if you needed one. It was about 20 minutes walk into Bowness at a steady pace and 10 minutes walk into Bowness. At first we thought it was a quiet place to stay and the area was. Unfortunately not inside, the noise from the room above us was continuous, sounded like elephants stomping around, from about 7am and until up to 11.00pm. It was difficult to relax at times. Obviously whilst out it did not disturb, but as soon as we...
"The communal areas in the hotel were lovely and the staff were friendly. The room we were allocated however was very disappointing for the price. We paid £194 for one night with a £20 additional charge for bringing our dog. The room we were given felt cramped and as it was on the ground floor, there was very limited natural light. The cleanliness of the bathroom was also not great."
"Staff on front desk & restaurant were lovely; neither tv in our room worked & when asked housekeeping if anyone could help she got another 2 of her team to come check then neither of them could help us"
"Of course the setting is the main attraction. The hotel is is a beautiful, grand, rural home, set by the lake, so its location and views are exceptional.
The hotel is a bit quirky and creaky as you would expect but some areas are tired and not as clean as they could be, sadly.
The staff were polite and efficent enough but not especially engaging. That said we didnt really need anything, so our interactions were limited"
"Regrettably our room number 6. Did not smell nice. It had the smell of old wet trainers. We did mention it and a room diffuser was turned on. Some of the fixtures and fitting were falling apart. The shower was head was not appropriate for the size of the shower causing flooding. The staff were lovely and theroom was clean."
