"Amazing comfy beds! We had travelled from Gatwick airport and had quite a long day, the hotel was perfect. Shower was amazing and beds were so comfortable. Staff was super helpful, we had misplaced a wallet and the front desk staff called the places we had been previously and helped us look through the room. Highly recommend - we didn’t eat at the restaurant but everything else was absolutely perfect."
"The lady in the bar was super friendly and welcoming. Would highly recommend staying here. The only thing I would add would be a fan in the bedroom during this hot weather."
"We ensured we arrived before 17.00 hours as the hotel has no-one on reception from 17.00hrs onwards. We felt this was a little restrictive although the Ancient Mariner staff were available to a later time in the evening. We found it convenient to have restaurant and bar food available at the Ancient Mariner and can thoroughly recommend it too.
Breakfast is served between 8.00 and 10.00, a decent interval of time. The staff were pleasant and friendly but service for the hot food was a little slow...

"Stayed here only a couple of months ago this time in a different suite with a lounge, kitchenette and dining area separate to the bedroom and ensuite bathroom. Warnly welcomed and shown to my room and helped out with cooling my drinks. Plenty of parking available. Extremely comfortable bed leading to a great night's sleep and a cooked breakfast with good quality, locally sourced items setting me up for the day ahead."
"Fijne herberg met gastvrij en vriendelijk personeel. Wij logeerden in de familie kamer, een gezellige ruimte op de tweede verdieping. Er staat ook een bedbank voor een derde persoon, maar die is aan vervanging toe. Ze serveren ook een diner met redelijke keus, en voor het ontbijt heb je ook prima keus."
"We felt very welcome from arrival till departure. Good location, cheap parking nearby, decent breakfast to start your day. Keep in mind that the rooms are not air contained and not all windows can be opened. Ask for a fan of necessary."
