"Excellent location across from the Buckingham fountain in Grant Park and one block from the Metra. Beautiful historic lobby greets you, hallways on the upper floors are dated with old carpet and wallpaper, however the room was very nicely updated with modern finishes. Loved the mixture of historic and new, and our 10th floor room with a park/lake view was wonderful. See Cris at the hotel bar and ask for a Buckingham Old Fashioned, you won't be disappointed."

"We really liked the location of the hotel, and the staff were friendly. The condition of our room was not okay - upon arrival we discovered a hole in the ceiling, hole in the bathroom door, the magnifying cosmetic mirror was broken, my husband sat down in the chair which immediately broke (two front legs fell off), the exterior handle to the bathroom door fell off, the provided body wash was empty, our room was humid for the first couple days, and we had 3 guests - they only provided 2 towels...

"No frills and thrills. Comfortable stay. When I checked in, there was garbage in the can in my room and something sticky on the closet door. Bathroom is tiny but clean and updated! Room cleaning comes later in the afternoon but appreciated. Staff friendly, pool and lounge chairs are a plus."

"The only downside was the elevator! It took forever to get to the 15th floor- especially when the staff was cleaning and utilizing the elevators to get from floor to floor- other than that, loved it!"

"I stayed in a corner room where the view was unmatched. The view alone makes it worth it if you can deal with the rest. For the bad: The carpet was weirdly sticky, the shower had black stuff in it (mold?), the bed was harder than a rock, the staff was some of the most unfriendly people I dealt with while I was there, the fridge was set to Antarctica temperatures and froze everything we put in it, and the iron didnt work. At least it was pretty and air conditioned I guess."
