"The staff on reception were friendly and helpful. We ate lunch in the clubhouse which was nice. The spa area was well presented and clean. Definitely worth a visit. The room was clean apart from the cobwebs. High dusting required. Bed was comfy enough. We had one of the older rooms. It was all perfectly adequate. The only criticism is the weird noises. "Hotel was fine for a one night stay with good breakfast. Room was clean and reasonably comfortable, though rather small and I found it rather stuffy at night (though an electric fan was available in the room). Hotel is fairly central, convenient if arriving at Colchester Town Station and for town centre. It's not luxury but reasonable value for what I paid. Staff seemed quite welcoming too. "
