"Staff were welcoming and polite. Check in was a bit odd, as had pre-checked in, but this hasn't been processed at the time, so took a slightly long time, but this all went ok. The room was good for a base if you want to into Gloucester centre with bus stops very close by. The room was very clean and did everything we needed. Bathroom was clean, although a tiny bit of mold around the edges of the large mirror, for us not a problem and an easy clean. The furniture was a bit outdated, but did the job and the bed was extremely comfortable and we slept very well. There was parking for cars, although we came by train but there are good transport likes. Overall, a great stay and thank you to the staff at the hotel. "

"A good short stay (4 nights) in a beautiful area of England. Car parking generally available but not on busy occasions. Staff very helpful and friendly. Room spacious and comfortable. Description of accessibility could have been clearer as we were unaware that our room was up two flights of stairs."

"Room was fine. Clean and a good amount of space. The only downsides were the room was very hot even with the window open all night. Considering it’s April I presume the summer will be stifling. The shower also was poor, the pressure was low and operated from the bath taps meaning the temperature was extremely difficult to regulate. "

"No parking on street outside orherwise you will get a ticket very early in the morning! There are nearby car parks Close to shops, restaurants, bars etc. Staff very friendly and helpful Traditional english breakfast superb. "

"The Speech house was our first stop in the UK after arriving from the US. Having never traveled to the UK before everything was new and different! The staff were extremely kind, helpful, gracious, patient and accommodating. We relied on them for information of all kinds and would have struggle mightily if not for them! The food was very good--beautifully presented and delicious. We were graciously upgraded to a larger cottage room which was a tremendous benefit since we stayed for a week. (Thank you Chaz!) The property is beautiful, historic, and interesting. The trails that were accessible directly from the Speech House were a real treat and perfect for us since we did not have a car. Internet and cell service were mostly only available in the Lodge, so we needed to readjust our thinking and adapt our normal routines, which is a good thing. In our room some of usual creature comforts were a little lacking, but being in the forest in such an historic place with wonderful people more than made up for that! We can highly recommend the Speech House, especially to foreign travelers. "
