"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Cliff Hotel. Staff were great - attentive and helpful. Our room was in need of refurbishment (carpet had iron burns for example) but clean and comfortable. The sea view rooms all look on to a huge pipe which is from the extractor fan in the kitchen. It’s noisy but is turned off during the night until about 6.30am. We kept the window open for ventilation but once the fan started….. Food in the bar was excellent and the service fantastic and can’t be faulted....

"We revisited this hotel as we had a comfortable stay in March and were warmly welcomed by all the staff then. This time was no different although the staff were busier but were just as helpful and its quieter position offroad is near a main bus route if you need it as we did. The breakfast choice is very good and the meals we had later were added to with a 'Specials Menu'. Plenty of space in the rooms we have stayed in and good Hospitality Tray and we slept well both times. We would stay...

The veggie sausage seemed cold in the middle, and the mushrooms still had the outer layer of skin on which made them seem tough to eat. "The hotel was immaculate and had a very high level of interior design throughout. Rooms were very modern/ stylish. Bathrooms extremely clean. Hotel food was exceptional. Staff were very friendly. Right on the riverside with extensive outside seating areas. We stayed three nights. Excellent."

"We had a comfortable stay. Room was nice, especially the soft furnishings. A few minor niggles. Some of the public areas were a bit shabby (it’s an old building) and there was apparently a problem with the drains at the bar toilets. Service was good - very friendly and attentive. Food was decent and good value (especially curry night). Breakfast a bonus with a choice on offer. Vegan and vegetarian no problem at all. We had been before years ago and would stay again."
