"Lovely country hotel, with really friendly, considerate and helpful staff. Good breakfast provided and lovely gardens to sit out, relax and take coffee with my visitors. Wifi, tv, etc all worked well. A few areas where the property is showing its age, but no real issues and it adds to the charm. Very happy with our stay."

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there over 3 nights and the location of The George Hotel in Castle Cary was perfect for exploring the surrounding area (the Fleet Air Arm Museum, Wells & Glastonbury for us). "Lovely pub and staff. Food great. Lovely atmosphere. Room needs major refurbishment and cleaning. Shower broken, door won't close, bathroom door doesn't close, window needs major attention and some of the pub needed cleaning. Enjoyed our stay despite the negative comments"

"Bathroom sink could be cleaned . Old toothpaste marks. An updated shower head would help. No toiletries are supplied if you've made an unplanned stopped. "

"Check in was really friendly, the room is good. I'm in a single room with a skylight instead of window, but the air con was welcome and effective. Only criticism is that I wasn't told or shown that there is a pole provided (tucked away behind the tea/coffee table) to close the ceiling blind (and I was too tired after a long journey to go downstairs and ask) so I was up with the daylight.
