"A warm friendly welcome set the scene when we arrived for our 3 night stay in June. All staff were pleasant and delightful. Nothing to fault, apart from an uncomfortable dip in one mattress. We did not use the restaurant. The hotel is old but the rate paid was a bargain and we hope to return."

"Great stay. Wheelchair access good except for harbour entrance. The tank trap trench, filled with pebbles, in a corridor??? Just brilliant for catching your power chair. Had to get guests to help me out."

"The hotel was very good but when we went out one day. On getting back we went to the bus station. The staff at Holiday Inn told me to get a green bus and ask for Holiday Inn. But none of the bus drivers knew it. I tried three green bus drivers, and they all told me it was on Honiton Road. But that is another Holiday Inn & I had to get a taxi to get home in the end."

"Excellent hotel in many ways & very welcoming to our 2 dogs. However the property itself needs some tlc on the exterior - a lot of moss & the white paint is peeling. It is still grand on the promenade & have to say the food is wonderful. Would definitely stay here again & recommend you try it. "

"A lovely hotel in a great location. The room was very spacious and clean. Lovely coffee and tea in the room. The gym was great, however disappointed it closes at 6pm especially as the check in was very slow."

"The staff are very friendly, the room was ok in size but next to the lift so every time someone used it it was very noisy. the shower changed temperature without adjusting the controls burning then freezing."

"Well situated hotel set in beautiful grounds. 5 minute walk to the beach. Room unfortunately faced the road and made the room noisy, the beds were uncomfortable and I suspect the mattresses need replacing. Lovely refurbished pool and the staff were helpful. Food was very average, Hotel was 3 star and I think that was a fair mark"

"Room was too hot and, being on the front of the hotel, too noisy. A very efficient fan did help with the temperature. Breakfast was good with efficient service. Good location, 5 minutes walk from Quayside and 15 from the Cathedral and City Centre."
