"Nice room, with a refrigerator, but the room facing the river gets the noise from the bars across the river until 3am. I'll stay here again, but request a room facing the road."

"The hotel is gorgeous and the staff were top notch. We had a bite to eat in the Garden Room and James was running himself ragged trying to serve everyone and accommodate everyone’s needs. Another waitress was also so friendly and helpful. We felt safe and well cared for during our entire stay."

"The hotel has a modern/hip vibe, starting with the lobby which is centered around the bar that also serves as the check-in desk. This is where breakfast is served. The room was modern, well maintained and functional, but a little tight on space for 2-people with large suitcases. "Well located and the restaurant was really nice and breakfast lovely. Our king suite was located in the loft and was uncomfortably warm. We mentioed to the staff and they brought up an extra air conditioner. This didn’t help much and was far too noisy to sleep with it, so we didn’t sleep well. It definitely needs it’s own dedicated aircon system. The pool changing area was very tired and in need of some attention."

"Great property. Very conveniently located 5 minutes walk away from the train station and 10 minutes walk from major destinations. Live music at the bar was a great surprise. All amenities you'd expect from an older establishment, everything in well working conditions, some upgrades may be necessary but mainly esthetics and not function. The staff are extremely polite and accommodating. I'd definately stay here again if ever back in York."

"The whole hotel was very clean and the staff very helpful. The underground carpark was a bonus and the walk into town only took about 10 minutes. I would definitely stay at this hotel again."
