"If bennetts bar had music, it would have been more of a spot for us to just hang out. The bar tender was great. The food was great but it was too quiet"
"I had an email last the night before we were going to say there was no food served in the hotel ! This was a red flag for me so I read the reviews….. wow they were awful . There was no way we were going to stay after reading them …
Didn’t get a refund but I think we had a lucky escape.
Only booked there because we had stayed there a few years back and it was lovely ( by reading the reviews it looks like it’s got new owners)"
"We had a very comfortable overnight stay at the hotel. Everything about the hotel was of a high standard. Would certainly stay again and recommend to others."
"Convenient location, outstanding customer service including the night staff because I had an early checkout. Everyone was helpful and friendly. I will definitely revisit when in the region . Rooms were very clean, spacious and comfortable."
"The property has potential to be beautiful with a lot of care and attention. As it stands it is extremely outdated and tatty looking and definitely not very clean and certainly not comfortable. The mattress was overhanging the base of the bed, the sheets were too small and the pillows had very little life left in them although the duvet cover, pillow cases and sheets were clean. The whole hotel needs a good clean and maybe the use of a hoover would make a little difference. We had food in the...
"Breakfast was great, staff were very help except Paul at the front desk, wasn't welcoming like other wonderful staff. Maybe having a bad day or something else. Overall it's a wonderful place to be and I will highly recommend."
"Definitely does not match the pictures on websites. Missing drawer handles in room. Toilet door swollen and won't close. Hallways are filthy. Piles of dead flies and wasps on window sills. Damp everywhere. Ceiling falling in with leaks. Wallpaper hanging off walls. Curtains hanging off rails and filthy. Door of room bangs every time someone else opens a door. As for the spa. All of the showers handles in the male changing rooms are damaged to the point were it breaks skin to turn on and off. ...
"It’s a budget room. There’s a small car park and the room was alright. Tv didn’t work and no remote and felt a bit tired.
It’s massively cheap - so not sure I’d expect much more, but it feels a bit odd.
And no staff in morning! We checked out with no one about."
"We loved staying in an historic hotel. So charming. The rooms were simple, in need of renovation, but clean with comfortable beds. Stepping into the pub was like going back in time. Great beer there, food not so great. The staff was very friendly and helpful."
