"On arrival room wasn't cleaned as should be,bathroom door not locking ? commented to reception, eventually offered swap of room, hotel is in good area for town&shops."
"My room was spotless with a comfy double bed. Hot water was plentiful and pretty much instantly available.
My room was a loft room at the top of the house. (Not really suitable for anyone with mobility problems but fine for everyone else). In addition to the the usual features of a bedroom it also had a space with fridge, microwave and small dining area. I didn't use the extra facilities as I was only there one night but it would be ideal for anyone wanting to reduce costs by preparing a simple...
"My room was spotless but very small. The shower was too small for me to get in as the folding door did not retract fully. The car parking was excellent and saved a lot of hassel. The staff were very polite and heplful and my evening meal was well presented."
"Lovely old-fashioned pub with a warm welcome
We had a lovely overnight stay here. It’s a charming, old-fashioned pub with friendly and helpful staff who made us feel very welcome.
The rooms are no-frills but have everything you need—spotlessly clean, with crisp white bedding and a really comfortable bed. We had a great night’s sleep.
It’s also in a great location, with free car park and just a 10-minute stroll into York city centre. At such a bargain price, we were really impressed.

"Room was clean and tidy, good amenities especially with the small fridge in the room. Staff were very friendly and helpful, breakfast had a good choice and served very quickly. Ample parking at the rear of the building. Good choice of evening meal, only sorry we weren't there on Sunday for the carvery. Great location in a beautiful small village. Would recommend and stay again."
"We decide to stay at Molton, not York due to the relatively higher price of the York hotel and our trip plan. It proves to be a good choice. The property located in a small and quiet town with about 10-15 minutes walk to the railway station. It may look normal from outside but when you step in, you would be impressed by the warm and cozy atmosphere. The first floor is the restaurant and a bar, with so many selections. The room was super clean and you can tell everything was so well maintained. ...
"This was the best place I stayed at on my 10 day UK adventure. The room was gorgeous, the bed was sooooo comfortable, and the staff were so very kind. The only down side was no free breakfast but can’t expect everything to be spectacular."
"This was a great historic little hotel. Perfect location to walk York. I had to check out before breakfast and they even made me a bag of food for my early morning travels!"
"The location is not very near to the centre but it’s still manageable for a 20-minute walk. There’re also some restaurants within 5 to 10 minutes walking distance. The parking lot is at the rear of the lodge. Don’t trust Google Maps which would direct you to the front. We got a room on ground floor and I could park the car just outside the room. It saved us efforts of moving our luggages. The full breakfast was excellent though it lacked black pudding of traditional full English one."
