"The hotel is very well located for all of Yorks attraction and city centre. The staff great, the room nice and big, nice clean bathroom. The shower was weak and the sink occasional had a strong drain smell but this is the only negative. The breakfast was excellent with lots of choice and regularly replenished. "Basic guest house within walking distance of mainline railway and city centre attractions. Great value for money. Brilliant staff, welcoming, very kind and helpful, Only downsides- traffic noise (secondary glazing helped) and lots of stairs. There were downstairs rooms but the dining room is upstairs which would be difficult for anyone with mobility issues."

"enjoyed our stay, we were in the loft room, ok but steep stairs at top floor. the room had all you needed for a self catering stay if you wanted. we opted for breakfast. Breakfast was perfect, one of the nicest cooked breakfasts i have had in a long while. the service was excellent, very friendly and helpful. good location, i would stay here again no problem. only small thing was there was no hook on back of bathroom door for clothes, this is always guest houses forget, just a little thing but...
