"The room [room 10, double en suite] was nothing like the pictures. First you had to lean on the door to get in cos it's too big for the frame. Then once you are in it smelled like a teenage boys room, sweat and lynx. The carpet was badly worn and peeling off the floor, the cheap divan base was broken so the mattress was either springy or wavy, didn't dare actually look at the mattress... Cobwebs around the window show how long since that was cleaned and general bits of wallpaper coming off the...
"Breakfast was good, room was tired but bedding was very clean. You have to request sea view rooms before checking in as we found out… even though we arrived a hour before the scheduled check in time all sea view rooms where already been allocated."
"The rooms have a/c, clean, staff were helpful, breakfast was good. Can park outside the hotel after 5pm. Evening meal was excellent and the beer was too."
"The infrastructure needs a reasonable amount of TLC but it’s a lovely place, with great staff, good beer, fabulous folk music on a Friday evening and a decent size car park.
We e stayed many times before when visiting the Centre for Alternative Technology and will stay at the Wynnstay again soon"
"The room was clean and comfortable but we were in the top of the building so it wasn’t the best room available.
Which we didn’t mind as we it was reasonable value and we booked last minute.
However the people in the establishment were a little rowdy and we felt uncomfortable on the evening having our meal. The breakfast the following morning was unorganised with staff who didn’t know what to do and was definitely not worth the money."
"The caravan was beautiful and very well equipped. We had a lovely view of fields with sheep in and mountains in the distance. It was in a perfect location only a 3 minute walk to the beach. The children made use of the play park and the swimming pool. It was a short drive into the centre of Barmouth. A lovely stay."
