"Spice Palace Hotel was a great place to stay in Stone Town. The breakfast was better than I expected (omelette served, location was center of Stone Town, staff was very helpful and price was great. My only complaint was that the pool could have been warmer. I would stay here again. Stayed 5 nights."
"I liked the water spray by the toilet...I like the large comfy bed.I liked the safety of tye grounds...pool...sea view room.... Did not like funny smell in the bathroom...trickey to work the room key...."
"Nice location with only steps to the water front, restaurants, boats to prison island and the Freddie Mercury museum.
Breakfast was lovely and staff super friendly and helpful."
"Incredible location, resort, staff and food. I stayed here for 10 nights and it was perfect. The rooms are spacious with a tasteful interior equipped with air conditioning. The villas are situated in a garden with paths, overlooking the ocean on a small cliff. The staff is attentive and eager to provide excellent service. As a solo female traveler I felt very comfortable, safe and well taken care of. I highly recommend!!"
"Nothing at all to complain about regarding the hotel, it was excellent, but just note that the bay and the tide makes it not ideal for swimming/bathing at all times. But on the other hand, there is a looong pool available, so if the idea is to exercise swimming, this pool was excellent."
"Good location, decent staff, room with fan and mosquito net.
Bathroom in poor condition with many bugs coming out drain. Toilet leaked water on every flush, shower was cold. No daily housekeeping -- had to request a new towel"
"My room was spotless. I liked the old wooden style with with excellent (silent) aircon. Nice location, and greatto have the coffee shop on the ground level. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooftop breakfasts were tasty and filling."
"This was absolutely a perfect retreat after a weeklong Safari in the Serengeti! We stayed in the two bedroom bungalow directly on the beach and had absolute privacy along with 24 hour security! I’m still dreaming of falling asleep to the sound of the sea every evening. The food was excellent and we ate seafood fresh every evening. The swimming pool was a luxury after spending time in the tide pools or swimming in the salty ocean we felt like there was ultimate privacy, even though there were...
"The hotel is in a very convenient location. It is a short walk to the Forodhani Gardens and the former Slave Market. There are several restaurants closeby especially a very popular one Lukmaan. The area around the hotel is bustling in the day and quiet at night. A taxi cannot drive up to this property so you will to do a short walk through the streets to get there. The staff were friendly and always greeted us. They were helpful when we called for assistance with anything we needed to clarify...
"Cozy, neat and well run hotel with friendly amazing staff providing services with a smile. Spacious rooms with firm mattresses. Avoid the rooms with the city view as it is noisy."
"Lovely room and the view was phenomenal. Check in says till 11pm but make sure you let them know in advance (we had) but it was clear they were due to go home when we arrived after 10. Food at restaurant was great, and staff very helpful. We dived with the sister hotel and had a great experience. We contacted them ourselves as hotel suggested getting shuttle bus to book but they were responsive via WhatsApp and this was easier."
"What a thoughtfully curated hotel. They were extremely responsive and helpful with coordination of all travels and excursions. The staff were warm welcoming and went above and beyond to make sure our stay was memorable. They always had a smile on their faces. Special shout out to Raphael. Manages quality one day!
Very unique hotel experience that I highly recommend! And the food… wow. Shout out to the chef very impressive. We hope to be back."
"We had a lovely stay at the Bellisimo. The location was great for exploring Stonetown. The staff were welcoming and very helpful. Having just been on a safari, I appreciated the good laundry service."
