"This should be a marquee hotel with its history and design. But it's a very tired property being sweated by owners for the last bit of value. Hotel's business is mainly coach parties, so the few rack-rate customers like us feel marginalised. Seriously understaffed to serve and clean up after 3 coach parties at breakfast. Cleaning of the public areas is skimpy. Maintenance likewise.
Barely adequate overall for £140/night at end of Sept. For the record, I think I should have spent a little...
"The location was convenient and the hotel was pretty nice, but there is very limited parking and, if the spaces are all occupied, you need to leave the car in a parking lot 5 minutes away from the hotel, which can be a hassle with all the baggage"
"Met our needs but we aren’t fussy. Busy weekend due to international marathon. This place is quite run down and not in best area of Inverness. Loud partying in streets at night. Only a couple of blocks to nicer shops and restaurants though. One block from train station."
"Quaint townhouse style hotel. No elevator, so would have liked if lower floor request could have been part of the reservation process. Staff were great. Street parking limited to between 5pm and 10 am so if driving this is something to keep in mind. Very close to city centre, 5 min walk over the bridge."
"We didn’t make use of the facilities, except for breakfast one morning. Staff were very helpful in organising a refund as we had paid twice through a miscommunication between our agent, the hotel and ourselves. The room was clean. The bed was a little too firm for us. Restaurants ,pubs etc were within walking distance . Free parking was available onsite. We stayed in the royal room. It had obviously had an upgrade from the advertised photos I saw on an agent website. It no longer had a spa bath,...
"This is a beautiful spot. Breakfast was very good. The room was clean.
Only complaint is we couldn’t turn the heater off in our room. The front clerk said would look after and then when we asked again later she said maintenance gone home so eventually it would turn off as was on a timer. It did but we had both windows open until about 9pm.
The other two staff we interacted with were lovely."
"Everything was great, clean, convenient, free parking and a spacious room. The only downsides were checking in was via automated kiosks. One was broken so I spent 20 minutes waiting in queue to check in just like other guests and the rooms picked up a lot of corridor and other room sounds that made for a bit of a disturbed night."
