"This should be a marquee hotel with its history and design. But it's a very tired property being sweated by owners for the last bit of value. Hotel's business is mainly coach parties, so the few rack-rate customers like us feel marginalised. Seriously understaffed to serve and clean up after 3 coach parties at breakfast. Cleaning of the public areas is skimpy. Maintenance likewise.
Barely adequate overall for £140/night at end of Sept. For the record, I think I should have spent a little...
"Situation was great but parking at hotel wasn't great. Only a few spaces and was very tight.
Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Hotel is very outdated. No air conditioning and one of the plug sockets didn't work."
"I spent 6 nights at Columba, staggered around tours including a 2 night tour. If I hadn't have prepaid, I would've moved to another hotel. The Columba has certainly seem better days and is generally run down, dirty and largely defective. Some staff were helpful when things didnt work, others flatly were not. I had breakfast only on my last day and it was possibly the worst hotel breakfast I've ever had. I will not return to that hotel under any circumstances."

"Not much good to say about it…. It was clean and there is a cafe attached…. And the shower was excellent. Conveniently located once you know what to look for. However if you are there early enough to get one of the ten front row parking spots you have to park in the back 40. Mattress felt more like a box spring than a mattress and there was a mechanical whirring inside the walls most of the night. Wouldn’t stay there again unless there was no other option."
"The room was relatively clean. The staff were very helpful. On Fridays/ Saturdays there may be events and in my case there was. I am an early sleeper and I was waiting out the music to be done at 11:30.
It’s convenient to have a restaurant on site and the food was ok."
"We would absolutely stay here again. Not far from the city centre, and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. They went out of their way to accommodate my wife's dietary requirements and made her feel welcome.
Our room was clean and comfortable and overall the property seemed quite quiet. The breakfast was consistently good and kicked off our busy days very well. Recommended!"
"Das Zimmer war sauber und es war alles da, was man so braucht. Vor allem die USB-Ladestation war besonders hilfreich, da ich meine Adapter vergessen hatte. Der Self-Check-in und Check-out waren unfassbar unkompliziert. Alles war toll und mit viel Liebe eingerichtet. Vom Stadtzentrum aus waren es etwa 10–15 Minuten zu Fuß, was völlig in Ordnung war, da man direkt am Loch Ness entlanggehen konnte."
