"We were looking for a relaxing end to our three weeks of very active vacationing, and La Tica y La Gata provided just that. While we were only able to book the shared bathroom rooms on hotels.com, the staff were able to upgrade us to a private room for a very small additional charge. This is a beautiful oasis right off the beaten path from busy downtown Puerto Viejo, but although it’s only a 6 minute drive from the town proper, you feel like you’re nestled in the jungle."

"The hotel is beautiful and Roberta and Ivo are extreamly wellcomming and helpful. Breakfast was great with lots of fruit, toast, jam, cake and an egg dish, coffee, tea, orange juice and water. "Stay Extension Update: Downgrading from 3 to 2 stars. I extended my stay here for one additional night on a Saturday, but unfortunately, I ended up regretting it. My room (Room 5) was located right next to the pool and the communal open-air kitchen. That evening, several groups used the kitchen extensively lasting until midnight. "We had an absolutely fantastic time at Villas Pina! Stayed 4 nights here in April. The 6 rooms all have the same layout and are very practical and spacious. There is a small kitchen with a large fridge, safety box and 2 queen beds! Also there is a large veranda and you get coffee every morning before breakfast, which we very much enjoyed while watching one of the sloth in the mango tree in front of us. "Great place to stay on the Caribbean side! VERY nice owners who were super helpful. This place literally has a private beach!!! The house itself was so much fun and HUGE! Great if you have kids or even if you want a romantic getaway. Would definitely stay here again! "

"The staff were incredible and so helpful. The cabins are open air; just screen windows, so if you hate being damp, this is not the place for you. There are also a lot of ants, so don't leave ANY crumbs unattended. Location and garden were amazing...
