"Good breky"

"We stayed in the Premium room. Although it was huge with a roll top bath at one end (which we didn’t use) I felt it needed some updating. The black wood wardrobe, dressing tables, lights and cushions could be modernised and improve the look. The bed was huge with wooden headboard and footboard but every time one of us moved the whole bed shook like the boards were going to collapse. The shower was great. Some of the bathroom fittings were loose - toilet roll holder and sink taps - and the toilet...

"I was disappointed with my experience, particularly given the high standards I associate with Hilton. The level of customer service fell well below expectations. Unfortunately, the receptionist's attitude was neither welcoming nor professional. First impressions are important, and I felt the interaction lacked the courtesy and hospitality one would expect from a hotel of this reputation. "Generally the stay we had was good. Room was fine apart from the fact the carpet could do with a deep clean. This didn’t spoil our stay as we never walk around any floor without shoes. Breakfast was good and in plenty of choice. Maybe the etiquette of hotel staying could be better as some very inconsiderate guests have no consideration regarding the noise they make very late at night. Great location for Metro Centre and very close to bus stop for Newcastle. We had a lovely time."

"Room spotless if a little dated. Public areas comfortable & updated. Food pleasant surprise on quality. Bar staff friendly & helpful"

"Lovely hotel. Great value for money in a lively student area."

"Good value for money. Very busy over the last couple of days so it took over forty minutes to get our order taken for breakfast on Thursday - which came without the veggie sausage as stated on the menu. I would probably skip the breakfast in future."

"⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had a lovely stay at The Royal Hotel. The staff were great, the room was clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was lovely. The hotel is in a great location and offers excellent value for money. I would definitely recommend it and would happily stay here again!"
