"We always ask for a river view and it was greatly appreciated"

"Room clean and beautifully decorated. Warm, lovely hot shower, large fluffy towels. Staff friendly and helpful. Well positioned in the town and good parking."

"The setting was lovely n tranquil but dirty windows obscured maybe due to it becoming winter, lovely walks, if you didn't want to eat in it was a nice lil hamlet to explore."

"Lovely quiet location, miles from town. Original coach house. Popular with the locals. Breakfast was good. Easy in and out. No delays."

"Evening meal was good quality but breakfast is basic. Make sure you have a key to access the pub after hours!"

"We really enjoyed our stay for two nights at Battlesteads. Two things really stood out - the food was excellent (except chips - a minor thing), and the staff were consistently friendly, helpful, and welcoming without being overbearing. "Wipe your feet on the way out. If only some money had been spent on the hotel rooms rather than the signage. Not as advertised."

"Lovely room with jet bath and tv in bathroom nice chill with glass of wine , breakfast was piping hot and delicious, lovely friendly lady waiting on in dining room ."

"Stayed during owners transition, that's why the kitchen served only breakfast and it was amazing! The same helpful staff. Short business stay, I visit a lot of hotels and I do appreciate smaller ones. Room had a nice design, comfortable bed and modern bathroom, all very clean and well kept."

"Booked due to location for work appointment..Parking is very limited. Room was clean, unfortunately bed was of a poor standard and very uncomfortable."

"Excellent"

"The double room was large, with a luxurious bathroom and an adjoining workspace. Breakfast was not only ample but flexible; you could mix any combination of items you wanted. Daniella was helpful in making sure we had everything we wanted."

"It was a lovely breakfast. We had English Breakfast, a fruit salad and a yoghurt. Plenty to choose from."

"Great old English inn. Very friendly staff, good food and beers. Room was very comfortable and breakfast was excellent."

"on a steep hill. steep stairs. creaky double bed. no headboard on single bed kitchen step steep. stair rails becoming detached. bedding was clean lots of pillows and towels clean. sink about as small as you could get one. difficult to actually wash and the shower head needed attention as did the soap holder (rusty and black). carpet on entry curled up so a trip hazard. as we only slept there, it was comfortable enough but we didnt cook anything . kitchen was a bit...
