"I love this hotel so much it was my second visit. I describe it as wholesome. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the location is superb for train station (2mins), city wallls (5 mins) and parkrun start line (5 min walk) Lucca is special and well worth a visit. I will certainly be back next next to stay and this lovely little hotel but please don’t forget the 3 mins plug adapter for Italy and not a standard EU plug."
"We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel San Marco. Pietro was kind and knowledgeable and the staff at breakfast were also extremely nice and fast to respond. Breakfasts were fine and the room was very comfortable. The bar came in handy as well. Here are the only negatives: no facial tissues (not a huge deal but it was just a bit strange. So here's the only REAL problem: the cleaning staff were EXTREMELY loud starting at 8 AM in the hallway outside our room. Loud talking, laughing, banging stuff,...
"Hôtel hors temps de la modernité, aspect extérieur de l'établissement ancien, mais qui a du brillé lors de son apogée. Malgré cela, l'endroit est beau, calme, agréable, les chambres sont fonctionnelles, dont celles avec vue sur le lac, tout est correct le petit déjeuner, le restaurant avec ses menus copieux, délicieux, de bons produits à prix correct. personnel serviable et excellent rapport qualité/prix"
"Clean Rooms however there was no iron, no kettle to make coffee/tea the other hotels we stayed in had those amenities, The front desk was helpful but the ladies at the breakfast station were not, I guess that was because we were Americans mind you it was 8 of us and I saw personally how they treated their own people and refused to give us a cappuccino.
I enjoyed their Beautiful country of Italy but when I pay my money I expect good service."
"Camera singola spaziosa, prezzo concorrenziale, personale gentilissimo alla reception e anche simpaticissimo in sala colazione. La sala colazione è in una terrazza con una vista incredibile, il modo perfetto per iniziare la giornata! Ottima colazione a buffet, molto varia. Grande parcheggio privato a disposizione, nessun problema per parcheggiare. Insomma tutto super!!! Grazie ancora!!"
"Alessandro met us upon arrival, what a lovely man. Our room was 2 floors with bed and bath upstairs. Plenty of room to relax and drink some wine. The larger hotel next door served an incredible dinner, one of the best we've had over a month in all of Italy! Breakfast was included and offered a good variety for all tastes. Highly recommend and is close to the train station for easy of travel into Florence without Florence hotel prices. We would definitely return."
"The hotel was great - not a five star but for the price it was excelent value. The old style building and decor were lovely and it felt like an authentice Italian hotel - much better than the often 'faceless' hotel chains. Bellisimo!"
"Really nice room and balcony! Only issue was that the double bed was two singles together so there was a gap in between the two which wasn’t the most comfortable"
"Fare una recensione per una sola notte non è facile, comunque ottima locazione vicino le terme raggiungibili a piedi, Albergo un po’ datato come tantissimi altri in Italia, se proprio dovessi trovare una critica la mancanza di caffè espresso per colazione. Il rapporto prezzo e qualità è ottimo"
"Niemand aanwezig bij aankomst, sleutel lag met een brief waar je naam op stond op de desk.
Het was schoon, maar de bedden waren vreselijk.
De veren staken in je kont.
Ontbijt was minimaal."
"We absolutely loved our stay at Hotel Diana! The location was perfect and so convenient for exploring beautiful Lucca.
The breakfast was absolutely delicious, with such an incredible variety of fresh and tasty choices. And the staff were wonderful—so warm, sweet, and accommodating. They truly made us feel welcome and made our stay even more special.
We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would happily stay here again. We will definitely be back to Hotel Diana! ❤️"
"Pros:
Location
Cleanness
Good and friendly staff
Cons:
Low quality mattress. Did not feel relaxed laying on that mattress after long walks.
Shower's hot water was warm 14 seconds then cold for 9 second and warm 14 seconds and so on."
"Hotel carino ben tenuto camere pulite.
Il personale per nostra esperienza poteva essere più aperto e cordiale, non sono stati maleducati, però un sorriso in più e una parola in più agli ospiti come cordialità sarebbe stato gradito"
"Stairs to rooms on first floor, no elevator, so be prepared to carry luggage up and down.
Lovely room with a view of plaza.
Very comfortable and secure electronic locks. Safe was locked and unusable .
Great location in heart of Lucca.
Very clean and comfortable"
"Unfortunately the air conditioning didn’t work in our room, so we were moved to another room. That one has an ant infestation. The next room we were given smelled like smokers. The only room left was clean but the a/c didn’t not blow cold air at all. Could not sleep because of temperature. Staff at desk was trying to be helpful."
