"First we were given a room that hadn't been cleaned but this was quickly sorted and we were switched to another room. However, it was so damp as to be unfit for use, particularly as my wife is asthmatic. The damp odour and poor atmosphere both in the room and the corridor meant we decided to leave and went to an another hotel. The evidence of damp was so obvious as to beg the question why the hotel management felt it appropriate to book out the room."
"I stayed for three nights the staff and food was amazing I wanted a little break away from my busy lifestyle and this was the place to be. i will be back with my partner and dog again thank you
Keep up the good work guys"
"Lovely place. This is a rustic place in the middle of nowhere and is fantastic! Worth all the travel. Staff were amazing. Food was superb. I had the giant Yorkshire pudding with beef bourginon. My room was lovely and the bed comfortable. A very welcoming place even for a single traveller like me. I’m definitely going back at some point! Brilliant"
"Very good in every way. Very comfortable and relaxing overnight stay. Would happily return. Very good food in the restaurant and at breakfast. Nice secluded sun trap garden."
"The room was immaculate, staff were lovely and friendly and so helpful.
The food was hot tasty and such good value for money.
Will absolutely be back. Thank you for making us so welcome"

Overall, I’m extremely impressed with everything including the high standards location and amenities. Cleanliness were very good apart from some surfaces needed a little dusting and one of the bedroom lamps didn’t work though again, overall the standards are extremely high and I’d certainly recommend future guests and I’d certainly return."
"This is a place that has been designed to make you feel at home. The rooms are tastefully decorated with colorful fabrics and interesting decorations. The pub is dog and human friendly and is a popular spot for locals. Jack, the Bernese Mountain dog is regularly present as he belongs to Kenny, one of the owners.
Kenny and staff have put together an eclectic playlist of songs that are ever present in the background but not so loud as to interfere with conversation. The entire staff works hard to...
"Lovely hotel in the heart of Kirkby Stephen. No breakfast, but could be arranged albeit for an extra fee, and a bit too late for walkers. Comfortable bed and bedding. TV and wifi worked well."
