"The property is located right next to the railway station. The staff were very helpful. Breakfast was good. I booked a single, however an upgrade to a double on the first floor as the life was out of order. Two short flights of stairs I can manage that with my condition. However if your wheelchair bound it’s not for you or mobility is restricted till of course the lift is repaired. It dose state this when you book and the hotel will accommodate you if you can manage the stairs. Reception are is...

"Charming hotel with very accommodating staff. We were able to check in early. Thank you. Our room in the older section of the hotel needed some TLC - vinyl floor in the bathroom in particular. Nice, full breakfast"

"Breakfast was good and the lady tending it was very sweet. Front desk staff was very rude. Pretty bad first impression. Also — really looking forward to the hot tub and but again front desk staff had no idea what I was talking about despite it being listed as an amenity on the website. Kinda rots after a long hike on Hadrians wall. Carpeting throughout was old, outdated, and very grungie. Overall, very mid."

"Currently as on the beginning of Nov 2026 there is no availability for EV charging The rest is Ibis standard"

"Ideal place for our stay as we were getting a coach the next day , shops nearby for goods"

"Cheap and basic-really friendly receptionist decent tea and coffee etc- just a bit dated but at price we paid I was happy enough - clean sheets and towels and quiet"

"Lovely spacious place, very clean, nice staff, well priced, lovely room. My only gripe would be no curtain in the bathroom window, which looks into houses, but overall we liked it."

"A mix of old and new - breakfast room / restaurant is gorgeous. Secure key card entry to rooms/lifts which is always great."

"Decent sized double room with better than usual lighting! Really comfortable bed and good shower, albeit on the small side! Off road free parking is always a bonus and they do a full breakfast if required! Everyone very friendly!!"

"The room was lovely but the sink in the en-suite was tiny & hard to get a wash or clean your teeth in without getting water everywhere. The front of the sink unit was already water damaged. The shower was good & easy to use. The lady who greeted us was very helpful & friendly especially as we forgot to take our key out with us & had to ask her to let us in to our room. Nothing seemed like too much trouble for her. There was a good choice for breakfast which was cooked to order"

"The property and staff were exceptional breakfast was amazing"

"The only positive from our stay, if it didn’t Happen, would have actually been a blessing . The front desk agreed to help us check in later than possible by leaving key in lockbox. Unfortunately, same desk clerk told us hotel was in Dumfries which has a road with a similar which led u s to council housing at midnight. Once we discovered the error we have another 1 hour 15 minute ride to “hotel”. Upon arriving, key was in lockbox, room was large but beds were from the 19th century, incredibly...

"Very nice room, good selection and quality of food for breakfast and lunch."

"My friends and I stayed overnight during our road trip. We chose the hotel because it was along our route and had ample parking available. We were expecting a comfortable stay, good hospitality, quiet surroundings, easy parking… and that is EXACTLY what we got. Zero complaints and would happily book again if in the area."

"The staff were very helpful, the room clean and the bed comfortable."

"The hotel was clean, the staff were pleasant, car parking on site and an excellent fresh cooked breakfast"
