"All the staff were very friendly and helpful, our room was spotlessly clean and the breakfast excellent with lots of choice. We also used the spa twice which was very relaxing and ate in the restaurant in the evening. The food was delicious both nights. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. "

"I stay in a lot of hotels and I must say that this hotel is tired and in need of a makeover. The mattress on the bed was on its last legs you could feel every spring in it and when you sat on it you could feel the frame underneath. The paintwork behind the door handles needed cleaning as did the stair carpets. The food was good though and they had a five start food rating. I was the only person staying there on the one night and I don’t know if that is indicative. Would I stay there again? No I would not there are plenty of other hotels in the town to choose from "

"Lovely place but very disappointed with the bed. We did request 2 singles as we’re not a couple. It’s was a king sized bed so we thought it will be fine However the mattress well well worn no support. Both off us could not get Comfortable. And the pillows were flat Apart from that great location and lively food and staff"

"We stayed for 1 night for our anniversary and it was truly at the absolute superlative.The staff were exceptionally welcoming and thoughtfully provided us with complimentary tea and coffee. The atmosphere was incredibly romantic and the grounds are breathtaking.Thank you for making our celebration so memorable! "Room smelled pungently of mildew. When I told the staff they said they’d have to do a better job of cleaning. We left several days ago and everything in my suitcase, including all my clothes, still have that mildew smell. Quiet setting. Large rooms but had no way to air out except for a tiny window 18x8 that partially opened. Luckily it was cool weather. Pub was cute and food including breakfast was good."

"The hotel was run down, we checked in went to order a meal and was told the only thing left on the menu was a turkey roast dinner. The spa was a joke. the bedroom, had no working bed side lights or phone charging sockets. the TV did not have BBC!!! Not a good stay. I don't know how the room rate was justified, i feel let down as i use Hotel.com all the time and don't expect to find a hotel as bad as this on your web site. Unhappy Stuart"
