"I really liked this hotel. It has the faded glamour of a Victorian Manor House. It needs updating as it is a bit tatty in places. However, the staff were lovely, it's very convenient for Pitlochry and the restaurant was excellent and good value. They have a pool but we didn't try it"
"On the downside the menu did not change on a daily basis . The height of the bath was almost impossible to get in and out.
The staff were very nice , chatty and helpful. The room was very spacious and comfortable. I would recommend the hotel for short stays."
"All the staff we met were polite and very helpful. Both the evening meal and the breakfast were spot on, especially the breakfast. An older hotel kept to a high standard. There's limited parking with a £5 a night charge."
"Property is very tired in need of complete refurbishment. Some very old celebrity photos badly displayed and fading and curled at edges
The visual display behind reception showed a lack of skill in it's production which is indicative of a lack of care or attention to detail that sums up the hotel"
"This was a wonderful place. Friendly, welcoming staff! Lovely comfortable room. It was only about a 9 minute drive to the center of Perth. I would definitely stay there again."
"Room was very outdated. Walls and carpet dirty. Shower didn't work either freezing or burning. TV broken and wires out. Door broken and had to be slammed to shut. Not able to book breakfast. No spare pillows. No heating. Very noisy."
"Didn't realize it wasn't as convenient as they said it was, The hotel is beyond dated & expensive . 2/10 of the way down the road there are places to stay that are much better in quality and care. I actually didn't feel good about taking a shower in this hotel that's the bathroom was dirty . Bed and pillows were uncomfortable and it was hot in the room with very little air to make it comfortable. Almost a non-existent Wi-Fi. It's below Expedia standards as far as we're concerned. We've been...
"Clean room, great shower, good location (10 mins walk downhill to town, about 15 mins uphill back to the hotel). Pillows left something to be desired, they were flat and thin. Overall, a great stay."
"Zimmer MacThomas war direkt unterm Dach, viele Schrägen. Prima Bett. Leider absolut schreckliches Bad. Kein Spiegel, nur ein Kosmetikspiegel überm irre winzigen Waschbecken. Alte Badewanne, braunes Wasser, grauenhaft. Das leckere Frühstück hat alles rausgerissen. Lage ist top!"
"Staff was dismissive and rude.
No WiFi no outlet for phone charger- told this is the UK.
TV was not working. The mattress was old. The worst mattress that I ever slept on.
Decent breakfast.
I would not recommend staying here."
"Never met any staff from the lodge, but checkin was easy. Room (stag room) was tiny as!! Photos didn’t portray that. Lots of space for car parking which was good. Our room was tired looking when we saw & were able to compare it to some of the other rooms there. Breakfast was included and was minimal with a couple if cereal choices and milk. There was a loaf of bread there but we chose not to use it - it was in the communal kitchen area. We were hardly there anyway, so that was fortunate. We’d...
