"My room was spotless but very small. The shower was too small for me to get in as the folding door did not retract fully. The car parking was excellent and saved a lot of hassel. The staff were very polite and heplful and my evening meal was well presented."

We had a lovely overnight stay here. It’s a charming, old-fashioned pub with friendly and helpful staff who made us feel very welcome.
The rooms are no-frills but have everything you need—spotlessly clean, with crisp white bedding and a really comfortable bed. We had a great night’s sleep.
It’s also in a great location, with free car park and just a 10-minute stroll into York city centre. At such a bargain price, we were really impressed.

"The bedding and towels were of good quality and the room was clean however the general state of maintenance was very poor. The ensuite smelled of rot as evidenced in the state of the bath surround. The fan sounded like a jet engine. The window was almost impossible to put up or down but needed to be up to dissipate the smell of the bathroom. The hallways also smelt musty and there are lots of stairs up and down with your luggage. I would not stay here again."
