"An ideal stopover for us on our way to catch the ferry from Aberdeen. It's a relatively quiet part of the A1, leafy, and fields with distant views of Bamburgh and the sea (all rooms have this view so away from the road). We had a great family room, a bed each for us - 3 adults and 2 pooches. Staff were very friendly and hard working. Breakfast was great, tasty and plentiful. Thanks all, see you on our return."

"Clean room good breakfast Room had no window to look out of only sky light. Shower only, broken shower holder so had to hold with one hand while showering. No extractor fan in toilet and no window tried to change room but non available glad it was only 2 nights"

"Excellent value for money. Spotlessly clean. Staff could not of been more friendly and helpful as well as being professional. Excellent food. Our room was spacious well laid out and spotless. "

"The pictures on the site do not represent the reality of this hotel. It’s currently very run down and in need of lots of work. We stayed for 3 nights, we only had 3 towels and although we asked for more twice, were not given any and they weren’t changed during our stay. The bathroom looked new but unfinished. There was nowhere to put shampoo etc. in the shower, the floor was slippy (I bought a rubber mat for them) the toilet flush was dodgy and neither the fan or light above the mirror worked....

"The hotel needs some work to elevate it to beyond 3 star status. The windows need replacing as the road noise from the front rooms is very loud. The evening meal was very good and the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was just ok, but get there early before the self service becomes scarce. The bathroom tiles and grouting need work and some of the baths have been patched up poorly."

"Welcoming staff, Alnwick is lovely. Room large, clean with tea and biscuits- great. Standard pub food, leak and potato soup more mash potato, but gammon and chips nice. Good helpful service throughout"

"A lovely light and airy room with a wonderful view. Comfortable bed and plenty of clean towels. Staff were most welcoming and very helpful. Wonderful selection of goodies for breakfast. Fresh fruit every morning alongside a cooked breakfast and timings for breakfast most accommodating."
