"Well first the staff was helpful and professional. The location is just spectacular. You are literally across the road from the beach and it has off street dedicated parking. A lovely parade along the beach, great for a stroll. Good places to eat near by and a Coop virtually around the corner. I was able to set up my laptop in the common room and had the place virtually to myself. I'd stay here again."
"I was worried by the negative reviews of this hotel before arriving but circumstances dictated that we would stay here. In fact, the place was actually better than expected - not great but acceptable provided you only need the basics.
Yes, the property is tired and in need of a face-lift; the carpets are well-worn, the beds are old, the bar/entertainment area hasn't been used in a long time and the bathroom was very basic. Your room isn't serviced during your stay other than to empty the bin...
"The hotel was further from Lyndhurst than I expected and although that wasn't an issue, it was further than I anticipated. This for us was the only downside to the stay. The room was cosy and comfortable and somewhat quirky. We loved its uniqueness. The hotel restaurant was lovely and we enjoyed our dinner there on our overnight stay. We would definitely stay again as it was convenient for a stop over before embarking on a cruise the following day from Southampton."
"I paid £26 for the night, and felt like I overpaid.
Advertisement pictures are false. Maybe that room looked like this, once. Not any more. Stains on the walls, stank of cigarettes.
Bed looked like it's been slept in already. No towels provided. There was a kettle and some tea in the room, but no cups to make it in.
Shared toilet and bathroom, dirty, no soap, no shampoo.
Tried to raise issues with the property, but there was no answer on the phone number provided, and no reply via messages on...
"I am still waiting for a response from this hotel. I have tried calling multiple times, but nobody answers the phone, and there does not appear to be anyone at the property.
I also called to cancel my reservation. I paid for travel insurance, and I am very concerned because the property was advertised as a hotel, but it appears to actually operate more like an Airbnb or short-term rental.
Because of the misleading advertising and the lack of communication from the property, I have contacted...
"Very spacious and clean single room. Equipped with fridge and a fan which were both very welcome on the extremely warm conditions. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is undergoing full refurbishment by dedicated owners. Extremely good value for money also."
"I couldn't take my shower during my stay because there was no cold water at the shower and the hot water was extremely hot.
In addition to that the people were making noise even in the mid night not allowing me to have a good sleep"
