"When we checked in, from outside we thought it would not be a good clean place but we were wrong. The room was very clean. Property was down the strip away from all the traffic and noise but walkable to general tourist area strip. The beach is around the corner. They have a lobby with microwave and fridge that can be used. Plan your day because they will not allow earlier check in than 2pm. We were willing to pay an extra fee but check in time was firm although we’re were the only tourist there....

But it is peaceful and empty during the week, especially heading west for 10 minutes, where you walk along a thin strip of coastline between the ocean and the jungle, seeing rock outcroppings, birds, and surf while hearing all sorts of sounds from nature. "The Republic is doing a major remodeling! The rooms was big, clean and very nice! They have a disco on site! The noise didn’t bother me at all! The staff was beyond excellent!! I went fishing and they cooked my catch for me for dinner! I know once they finish the remodel it will be 5 stars all the way! I will definitely be back to them!!"
