"We loved the beautiful hotel grounds - all the plants and landscaping were well-kept! The staff was very friendly and it was overall a nice place to stay. One thing I did not enjoy however was the shower: it was very low pressure. I would recommend this hotel!"

"Basic room, this is not our first stay here. The price is right for an overnight stay and only 7 min. drive to LIR. The shower plumbing issue is always an issue and the pillows need to be updated. The AC unit takes forever to cool the room. Thankfully, the barking dogs next door get locked up at sunset. "

"Hotel Guanacaste is pretty accurate in what it advertises, it is a good budget hotel with nice staff and owners. We were even treated specially for being returning customers and that is something to value. There is a bar outside and music can be loud in certain rooms, so pack some earplugs if you are a light sleeper, but other than that we were really happy with the experience."

"The property was a very typical Costa Rican Lodge. Beautiful location along a very nice river, off the beaten track away from loud city noise. "This place is a hidden gem! The rustic cabins are well maintained and clean. A short walk from the cabin and you arrive at the restaurant where the food is amazing and reasonably priced. The hosts were so nice and helpful, making suggestions for our hikes and other options for dinner (although we ate on site 4 times it was so good). Our kids miss Lucky and Domino and wanted to take the puppies home :-) I would definitely recommend!"

"Showed up & the head lady kept saying we only paid for 1 person when we had confirmation for 2. Tried to more money out of us when we already paid for the room. The pictures online was why we got the place. FALSE ADVERTISEMENT!! They had 2 queen bed pushed together with sheets that had stains all on them. No blankets, no AC. We had to ask to have the AC unit to be turned on & they said we had to pay more if we wanted AC!!!! Knowing it’s beyond hot at 8 pm. Room didn’t look like it had been used...

"A family run establishment. Daughter checked us in, father ran the restaurant, mother in charge of room cleaning etc. Welcoming atmosphere. Gave us recommendations of places to visit. Their restaurant is the best in the area. "

"Would not recommend. You definitely need your own vehicle when staying here. We chose this place as it was within 30 minute drive from Liberia airport but disappointed with our unit #7. No seating in apartment other than hard wooden chairs at table. Only one chair for two people to use outside unit for morning coffee.
