"I wanted to like this place more than I did. It was within walking distance of my daughter’s place, which was why I chose it (along with the lack of parking fees because Portland parking can be ridiculous), but the truth is that it was not that great. Parking lot was difficult and very full (a couple of trucks taking more than an allotted space), I had to park on the street a couple of times. No handicapped parking. My room was old and worn. I tripped the power in the room plugging in an iron....

"I first went to pony soldier Hotel 11 years ago and it was probably three star. But in the last 11 years it has become rundown. Our room, the sink wouldn’t drain, but very, very slowly, the toilet tissue holder broke while we were there, and the place didn’t smell good. Breakfast was OK but boring. And the dog potting area was downstairs and inconvenient."

"We liked the prospect and the location. Although we’re happy with free parking, the spots are too small and hard to get into your car. Tried to get hot water for tea at night and it was all empty. Upon arrival, the desk clerk ignored me and left to chat with co-workers, but staff was good otherwise. Would stay again for Timbers game."
