"Fantastic place when stopping maybe for a night or two. Ideal walkable location to city centre and all main attractions. Parking on site. Great sized room with a huge walk in shower. No food available due to our check in time which was ok, great information leaflet in room means we got a takeaway delivered and chilled out in our room. Some noise from pub but not more then you'd expect. Definitely stay here again"

"Lady doing check in was lovely , super friendly and helpful . Couple of issues resolved quickly after a few laughs . TV positioning and size bizarre . "On arrival l was given no information by the young lady. There was only WiFi information in my room, nothing else. Only found out, from another guest, how to get back in the front door using the key fob. The same, l heard from another guest who had heard from another guest, about being able/aloud to use the fridge in the kitchen for storage "

"Right from setting foot in the place, we were made to feel very welcome. We were shown to our room, even though we arrived three hours early and only wanted to see if we could drop off our bags. An ideal location for the Malton food festival. The only real issue we had was no parking, due to the festival. This issue was easily resolved by using a certain app to rent a local drive for the night. We were constantly asked if we needed anything and if things were ok with our stay. Very friendly...

Unpleasant experience
"When I arrived there was no one to show me to my room. I phoned the number on my booking but they could not find any record of me having booked with the itinerary number I was given. They gave me another number to call, eventually they found the booking and said ‘the man is coming’. This turned out to be a maintenance man who was very unwell (flu I presume). He showed me a double room but the toilet was broken, a sign in the door saying do not use. I asked for an alternative room with a working toilet. He showed me to a single room but it had not been cleaned. Still had the last guests bedding and rubbish in the bin. I decided not to stay there so I found another hotel. I went through my booking on hotels.com to ask for a refund, but they said they couldn’t find my booking. Very frustrating!! The money has already left my account but I don’t think I can get it back. "
