"I recently stayed at the Avalon in St. Pete and had a wonderful experience. The staff at the front desk were incredibly nice and welcoming. I appreciated the complimentary water and even free wine. "Hotel was a bit dated in the lobby, the rooms were okay. The beds were rock hard and some what slanted or broken down in places. The air conditioner barely worked properly. However, it’s not really a complaint as all of the other hotels in the area wanted 300$ a night and this was nearly 100$ the rooms condition was clean and per the reviews I was a little bit nervous about that but all was well. "First, the good!! Family of 4 stayed from Friday, 06/07/24 and checked out Tuesday, 06/11/24. The staff was WONDERFUL! Very helpful, very friendly. We stayed in a Suite. There was plenty of room for the 4 of us. The kitchen area was nice to include the bar area for eating. And a good amount of counter space. The 2 closets were a plus! "I am impressed! I stay here during "no frill" visits to the St Pete area. I will tell you, along the route 34 strip, for the price, there is no better place to stay. If you are on a low budget family or solo trip - I highly recommend this place. I have stayed here now several times and have not been disappointed. Except for one occasion with check-in staff, it has been awesome. The first sign of a horrible place is the pool. The pool here is clean, refreshing and awesome. The staff! OMG!...
